 Rolls Royce Phantom Electric Car

The electric prototype is intended to analyze the use and functions of an electric Rolls. He returned to base after a tour of tests.

Rolls presented at the last Geneva Motor Show in March, a prototype electric Phantom of the model. Before its possible commercialization, Rolls has toured with him to conclude whether an electric car may be in the philosophy of Rolls Royce.

Electricity is still a lot of limitations, and is an emerging technology, so that the brand does not have guaranteed that electric Rolls is the taste and needs of customers of the brand.

After the tour test, the Phantom has returned to its base in West Sussex, now it’s time to recap data.

Market research is being collated and the company will publish its findings in the first quarter of 2012.

Rolls-Royce has announced plans to make an all-electric Phantom called the 102EX.

The car is a one-off project to be unveiled March 1 at the Geneva Motor Show. After the show it’ll tour the world as a tester to see whether an electric drivetrain might be feasible for the Rolls-Royce brand, both in terms of functionality and in terms of consumer perception.

“It is the company’s intention to carefully test the opinions and reactions to alternative drivetrain options of a range of stakeholders including owners, enthusiasts, members of the public and the media,” a press release said. Read the rest of this entry »
